    Organizations, governments, charities, educational institutions, women's groups, corporations, and the media celebrate the day. We celebrate the achievements of women while remaining vigilant and tenacious for further sustainable change. There is global momentum for championing women's equality, and this program celebrates that progress.

    ABA President Laurel Bellows will speak on two principal issues: equal pay and domestic violence. Throughout the program we will also have an international dialogue, hearing from women around the world talking briefly about their experiences as women in their own countries, some of the struggles they believe women face where they are from, and what is being done to improve the standing of women.

    The WSBA Disciplinary Advisory Round Table (DART) is seeking a minority bar association member to serve on its round table.  The DART discusses issues which affect the lawyer disciplinary system in Washington and reports annually to the BOG and the WA Supreme Court.  This position represents a unique opportunity to participate in discussions with key Bar members and others involved in the disciplinary process, and to provide input on policy recommendations.  The term is for two years.  Please submit a letter of interest and a resume to Darlene Neumann, WSBA Office of General Counsel, 1325 Fourth Avenue, Suite 600, Seattle, WA 98101 or fax (206) 727-8314.  Email: darlenen@wsba.org.     FROM CFPB TO LEGAL SERVICES PROVIDERS ADDRESSING CONSUMER ISSUES:

    Welcome to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau

    You are invited to a one-hour webinar about the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), a 21st century agency that helps consumer finance markets work by making rules more effective, by consistently and fairly enforcing those rules, and by empowering consumers to take more control over their economic lives.

    The webinar will take place on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm Eastern Time.

    Director Richard Cordray and staff from CFPB’s Consumer Education and Engagement division and Consumer Response will provide an overview of the agency, its consumer protection tools, and work it’s doing to help educate and engage consumers, including low income and economically vulnerable consumers. Staff from Consumer Response, tasked with taking in, resolving, and analyzing consumer complaints, will discuss the goals of the complaint system and how it works.     SOCIAL MEDIA 101:  SHOULD LAWYERS USE  SOCIAL MEDIA FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENTAND NETWORKING?  IF SO, HOW?

    This panel will discuss the various social media platforms and the advantages and disadvantages of using social media as a networking and business development tool with a focus on Facebook and Linkedin.  They will also discuss how to use social media and what to avoid when utilizing social media.

    Lee Wang has been an expert and entrepreneur in online, mobile, and social media marketing and advertising for over 12 years. He founded FanZappy in late 2011 and is serving as its CEO. FanZappy offers a business-class social media management, marketing and acceleration services, uniquely designed for professionals and small & medium businesses. Prior to FanZappy, he founded Caliber Data in 2006 and established its breakthrough Pay Per Transaction™ advertising platform (sold to eBay). Lee joined Microsoft in 1997 and worked in the Windows and Online divisions as program manager and later marketing research director. He holds a PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University, a MS in Physics from Bowling Green State University, and a BS in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University.  Lee has published a number of professional articles and holds several US patents in his professional areas.


    Lisa Cox came to Fan Zappy through social media, and began working with FanZappy Social Media Management in 2011.  Lisa is a strong “Connector” and a networker, by nature, training and personal fascination.  Lisa enjoys helping businesses connect, and to accelerate their social media effectiveness through FanZappy and the smarter application of networking skills.  She has over 30 years’ experience in sales and operations management.  She is an entrepreneur who has started and managed several small businesses, occasionally turning them into larger businesses.  She’s moved from sales and management of a multi-franchise video dating business to owner of a women’s health and fitness franchise, and spent 4 years in executive search in the banking and financial industries.

    Carly Presho-Dunne is a social media manager who has worked for University Village, Windows Phone at AT&T, and local startup, Julep Beauty Inc. She graduated with a degree in economics from Occidental College in 2011 and has spent the last two years mastering all facets of experiential marketing with a particular passion for online marketing and Search Engine Optimization.
