    Municipal Attorney

    The Seattle office of Ogden Murphy Wallace, P.L.L.C. is seeking a municipal attorney. OMW is a mid-size, multi-specialty firm primarily serving Pacific Northwest clients for over 100 years.     The firm emphasizes a collaborative, team approach to the delivery of legal services and is seeking applicants with strong research and writing skills, superior academic credentials, and the ability to work closely with multiple attorneys and staff. This position will have responsibilities to serve multiple municipalities and must be well versed in all facets of municipal law, including but not limited to land use/zoning matters; public records and open government requirements; public bidding and contracting; municipal ethics; and personnel and employment issues . The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of legal experience, preferably with experience as a lead attorney with a city, county, public utility or other governmental entity.

    The position involves the following responsibilities:

    • Support and advise City Council, Mayor, City staff members and local boards/commissions;
    • Research and analyze complex issues;
    • Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, policies and procedures;
    • Provide telephonic and email advice to clients as needed;
    • Counsel to ensure compliance with state, federal, and local laws;
    • Attend meetings of the City Council, boards and commissions;
    • Communicate with prospective and existing clients in a professional and courteous manner;
    • Represent municipal clients in judicial litigation and in administrative appeals, hearings and other proceedings;
    • Negotiate/draft/review of contracts, deeds, leases, bid documents and bonds, resolutions and ordinances, easements, policies, interlocal agreements, and other documents.

    HEALTHCARE ASSOCIATE

    Ogden Murphy Wallace, P.L.L.C. is seeking an associate attorney to join our healthcare practice at our downtown Seattle location. This position will focus primarily in the area of health care law and health information technology.

    Experience: Position requires three (3) or more years of relevant healthcare law experience and a license to practice in Washington state.

    Key Job Duties:

    • Negotiate health information contracts for hospitals, multi-specialty groups and technology companies servicing healthcare entities.
    • Advise clients on HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, privacy and security laws and general data governance legal requirements.
    • Draft, review and negotiate agreements/contracts with respect to physician employment, space leasing, physician practice acquisition and affiliation, general governing documents, and clinical network development.
    • Perform the legal research and document preparation in connection with physician integration initiatives and related contractual matters.
    • Respond to healthcare client legal questions and provide practical solutions in a timely manner.
