This will be the first of a few CLE training programs we plan to host over the next year to invite attorneys to volunteer their time on pro bono cases assisting Afghan refugees to come to the United States.  VABAW has brought cases to WIDEN and CAIR-WA for Afghan refugees who worked with the US Government during the war in Afghanistan.  VABAW and others in the Vietnamese community see a strong resemblance to the immigrant experience of these Afghans and Vietnamese that fled Vietnam after the Fall of Saigon during the Vietnam War.  VABAW commits to helping these cases over the next year by providing training and support to Washington attorneys interested in helping Afghan refugees.
