Associate Attorney – Environmental (Junior/Mid-level) 

Position Overview 

Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson P.S. (HCMP) is seeking an environmental attorney with 3-6  years of experience to join and help grow our thriving and expanding environmental practice.  

The anticipated work covers a broad range of upland and aquatic cleanups, redevelopment and  construction projects, purchase and sale of contaminated and brownfield properties, natural  resource damage claims, and complex cost allocation. Clients include large national corporations and  small local companies, public entities, as well as individuals.  

The ideal candidate must have a depth of experience working on sophisticated transactional,  regulatory, and litigation matters involving contaminated properties and the application of the  Washington Model Toxics Control Act and the Comprehensive Environmental Response,  Compensation, and Liability Act. Experience with, or demonstrable interest in, real estate  transactions and development involving contaminated property, environmental insurance claims,  cost recovery litigation, and allocation of environmental liabilities, along with a willingness to take on  a diverse range of fast-paced environmental matters, are necessary components of this role.

Compensation, Hybrid Work & Other Benefits 

The estimated salary range for this role is $165,000-$195,000 with bonus-earning potential and is  based on the desired experience range at the time of this posting. Actual compensation will be  dependent upon various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience and  qualifications. 

This position is eligible for hybrid work. Our current policy strongly encourages employees to work  in the office a minimum of one day per week.
