Legacy Program

As WWL enjoys its fourth decade, it is clear that we have played a key role in our profession and in the lives of women lawyers in Washington. Through WWL membership and events we encouraged women throughout Washington to develop friendships, hone their legal skills, ascend to elected office and judicial positions, and advance the rights of women from all walks of life.  This year, we want to document and celebrate our achievements through the Legacy Program – a program designed to unite women lawyers across our state.  Through this project, we hope to gather our community through three main efforts:

I.  WWL Linked-In & Facebook Groups:  Sign-up now and become part of the conversations at http://www.linkedin.com and http://www.facebook.com

II.  Legacy Project Survey:  Please complete the survey, which is intended to capture key points in our history.  We hope you will help us by completing this survey by August 1, 2009 if you served in a leadership role in our organization and forwarding the survey to others who served with you.

III.  Legacy Events:  We will host a series of events throughout Washington in order to gather state and chapter members and leaders and encourage relationships among neighboring chapter boards.

Our tentative schedule of events includes:

June 13 – Legacy Reception after mid-year retreat – Spokane
July 27 – Legacy Reception with Clark Chapter – Vancouver
August 14 – Kitsap Chapter event – Bainbridge Island
October 2 - Legacy Celebration at the WWL Annual Event - Seattle

Events yet to be scheduled:
Bellingham (Whatcom Chapter)
Olympia (Capitol Chapter)
Seattle (King County Chapter)
Stay tuned to our website for further details!

We hope you will join us in these efforts as we hope to bring women from all levels of practice and experience across Washington into a greater sense of community.

With warmest regards,

Eileen M. Concannon, WWL, Legacy Project co-Chair
Amy Robinson, 2008-09 WWL President
